The Ultimate Cookie

This weekend I made the Ultimate Cookie. I made this:

[Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough]

And combined it with these:

[Double Stuffed Oreos]

To make this:

[Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie]

And the first bite, was like this:

[Amazing!]

These were seriously the hugest cookies I have ever made. They looked like large hockey pucks right before I put them in the oven.

[Hockey Puck like Cookies]

I have seen these Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip cookies all over the place lately. They have been on several blogs that I frequent so I just had to try them. I'm really glad I did...and so is my boyfriend...and my roommate...and several of my co-workers :)

I had a small issue as I was making these, I snapped the handle right off my measuring cup. Sad day.

Legacy Builders of Woodbury

Legacy Builders of Woodbury is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the educational experience of teachers and students in Woodbury, Minnesota and surrounding areas. When the Legacy Builders contacted Holy Hannah's for a donation to their gala event that is happening tonight at Prestwick golf course, we were more than willing to lend our services.

So after a few hours and 160 cake balls later we finished! Each cake ball was dipped in chocolate candy melt and adorned with a different color drizzle and sprinkles.

Birthday Treats

A friend of ours, Mallory, ordered some delicious cake pops and cake balls for her birthday. She ordered the classic cupcake pops. It was great to make these, we haven't done them in quite some time. Mallory's coworkers are awfully lucky people!

Thanks Mal and Holy Hannah's hopes you had a very special birthday!

Cookies N Cream Peanut Butter Pie

Doesn't that title just sound delightful? My roommate had one of those dessert cheesecake ball mixes and asked if I could just make it for her. She doesn't bake a whole lot and I was happy to step up to the plate. I was about to make it when the package took me in a whole other direction because this mix was capable of making a Cookies N Cream Peanut Butter Pie!
So I mixed together the package contents, 1/2 cup of peanut butter, 8 oz. of cream cheese, and a container of cool whip. I loaded the mixture into a graham cracker pie crust and topped it with a chocolate crumbled topping provided from the mix.

It was the easiest pie I have ever made and it was delightful ;)

Cupcake Cookie

Can you tell we are currently obsessed with cookie cutters, sugar cookies, and royal icing? Krista made the comment the other day that we bake in trends.

Krista spotted these adorable cupcake cookie cutters at Crate and Barrel and couldn't pass them up. I'm glad she didn't. What kind of kid would be able to resist one of these!?

Bye-Bye Boobies

Our friend Elizabeth from the gym ordered some very special cake balls from us over the weekend. She was having a Bye-Bye Boobies party in honor and support of a close friend.

Our thoughts for cake balls had wandered to some 'R' rated material but we decided to keep it 'PG.' We made pink cake balls with the breast cancer logo on them. They turned out adorable and were the hit of the party!

Tyler John

I promise this is my last mushy-gushy post for the week. I just couldn't resist and the timing was perfect to tell you all about Tyler John. A few weeks back I had been busy studying and stressing for a certification exam I was preparing for. Tyler and I had just finished dinner and I asked what was for dessert. He asked what I wanted, I told him a chocolate chip cookie. He handed me a bag of 100 calorie Double Chocolate Chip cookies and went back about his business. I didn't think much of it and returned to studying. It was getting close to bedtime so I packed up all my study materials and headed to find Tyler, whom I thought was watching TV.

I walked into the kitchen and found this

Which then turned into this.

I could not believe my eyes. In the 5 years Tyler and I have been dating never once has he baked me anything. Obviously, it's usually the other way around. I was so excited I could hardly stand it! He tried to get me out of the kitchen but I couldn't resist watching and taking a few pictures.

One of my first comments was I didn't think I had any chocolate chips. He said "ohh I found some in the freezer." I looked at the bag on the counter and was sorry to tell him they weren't chocolate chips....they were butterscotch chips.

Butterscotch Chips

Not to worry. I had some chocolate baking bars that I told him he could chop up. No longer chocolate chip cookies, he was making chocolate chunk cookies.

Chocolate Chunks

He was on his way to making some delicious cookies. Here is an action shot. Checking out his recipe book.

Notice how nicely everything is mixing together

Yeah, you better believe it. He broke my mixer. Well, at least the attachment.

Not a Happy Camper

We were able to do a little finagling and put the mixer back together. Here is a picture of the dough. He was definitely a 'fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants' baker. He thought the dough was a little dry so he added another egg.

Cookie Dough

Let me tell you, his cookies were amazing! Cooked to perfection, soft and chewy. You could not ask for a better chocolate chunk cookie. And you may think I am bias but he got a lot of great reviews on these cookies. I was incredibly impressed.

Cookie Close-Up

That night alone I ate 3 of these cookies and I cannot even begin to count how many were eaten the next few days. He told me to never expect this again, joking of course! He might have just earned the spot of chocolate chunk cookie maker. =] Thanks Ty! They were absolutely delicious!

Love Muffin

Tyler, being the nice guy that his is, saw this heart shaped pan at Target and thought it would be the perfect addition to our baking collection. .

I have been busy with work and certification exams so this pan has been neglected. Tyler was offended. Over the weekend I put this pan to use and made Banana Nut Muffins. They turned out delicious! They were the perfect size to just pop in your mouth and go.

Valentine Cut-Out Cookies

Krista has been dying to use her new cookies cutters for weeks! She finally got around to using them this weekend in honor of Valentine's Day. Our wonderful older sister Breanna graciously made the dough for Krista.

It was a basic sugar cookie recipe with almond extract. Krista decorated the cookies with royal icing. They turned out amazing!

Valentine's Day

We did some Valentine's Day themed baking over the weekend. We are probably technically behind the 8-ball and these posts should have been up last week but ohh well!

After a slight mishap in the kitchen I had an extra Hello Kitty cake that was, lets just say, unusable (came out of the pan in pieces). Tyler being the guy that he is, instructed me NOT to throw the cake away and he would eat it.

I decided to spruce it up a bit and make him his own Valentine's cake.

Krista decided to get in on the action as well! Hers is a little more gagging, I mean sentimental.

Happy Valentine's Day to all Holy Hannah's followers!

Just for Fun

I had a few left over cake balls the other day and decided to put them to good use! We have many supportive friends at the gym that we love sharing treats with. And we feel that everyone deserves a small dose of chocolate after a hard work out at the gym :)

And in the spirit of Valentine's day (which is fast approaching, hint hint Michael and Tyler...), I used red candy melt topped with some heart sprinkles. I can't wait to show you our other valentines treats soon :)

Hamline

Challenge #2 from Auntie Shannon was just as successful as the first! Her eldest son Zack swims for the Hamline Pipers, and cake pops were in order to celebrate the last meet of the season. The school colors for Hamline are gray and maroon, and we had a heck of a time trying to color our butter cream frosting to a good dark maroon. We finally hit it and they turned out great!

Here is what the actual Hamline logo looks like

Great Grandma Bossard

Great Grandma Bossard was so excited for us when she saw the article about us in the Woodbury magazine. She proudly showed off the article clipping to all of her friends at the nursing home! We brought her a couple of treats the other day to share with all of her friends.

Thanks for all your support GGB :)

Go Pack Go!

During the Superbowl yesterday, Emilee and I decided to make good use of our time and bake some cut out cookies.
Tyler John all excited for the big game
I got these awesome Message In A Cookie cut outs for Christmas from my boyfriend's brother Ben. He drew me for secret santa and I think his wife Becky may have helped him pick a few things out for me:)

These cut outs let you create words to press into the cookies.

Since we were a little short on time, we didn't have time to color the dough we used. We plan to do these again later in the week to hopefully have some cuter results.

They were a ton of fun! Thanks Ben :)

North St. Paul

Our cousin Brent swims for the North St. Paul Polars. Our aunt ordered some cake balls for the final swim meet of the year. She gave me the ultimate challenge, asking that the logo be imprinted on the cake ball somehow. Here is the logo:
We tried several different kinds of cake spray paint/frosting but they were all unsuccessful. They didn't dry on the smooth candy melt. Plan B was to pipe the logo onto the ball with buttercream frosting. This proved to be much more successful, see below:
We decorated half of the cake balls in the logo and the other half were swirled by Emilee Ann. It was nice to have a little variety with them. Overall, I think the logos turned out better than I thought they would.
Go Polars!

The Next ROTM

A few weeks ago, my co-worker Ryan was leaving for a position at another company. He rarely got to enjoy treats that I brought to work because he has a peanut allergy. I wanted to make him something special that he could definitely eat without breaking out in hives. I stumbled across the most A-MAZING chocolate-chunk brownie recipe and I have to share it with you! These brownies were so gooey, chocolaty and rich, you seriously cannot eat one without a glass of milk! I made sure to bring some of that with me to work on Ryan's last day. You can find this recipe on the ROTM page and I highly recommend you give it a try! Happy Baking :)
