Cookie Week

It's cookie week on Holy Hannah's! We have been employed to bake 250 cookies for a wedding this coming Friday. We got a majority of them done over the weekend and I figured what's better than a week full of cookie recipes!

Snickerdoodle Cookies

Cookie Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 3/4 cup flour

Topping Ingredients

3 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon cinnamon.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Beat butter, shortening, sugar and eggs together until creamy. Add cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt; then blend. Add flour and mix well. Chill dough at least 2 hours in fridge, overnight is desired. If you are in a hurry, putting the dough in the freezer for about 15 minutes will do the trick.

Combine the topping ingredients in small, shallow bowl. After the dough is done chilling shape dough into balls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Drop dough balls into topping mixture and coat entire surface well. Place on ungreased baking sheets and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
